Holly is an active places consultant and researcher, currently at the University of Westminster and the Young Foundation. Her knowledge stems across the fields of urban planning and public health, exploring how places can encourage physical activity and reduce inequalities, as well as considering children as users of public space. Holly is also a UKA running coach.
The runsome campaign neatly brings together Holly’s two work and personal interests. As a running coach and regular runner herself, she knows that not everyone wants to run as much as her (she runs a lot!) or feels that they have the time to fit it in. This is where her work on active places comes in and the importance of creating environments that people feel comfortable running their everyday journeys. Holly would love to see physical activity becoming a regular part of people’s everyday lives and hopes that the runsome campaign will help to support this.
